Summer Trends and Tips for 2012:)

  Summer Trends of 2012!

It's been a while, but I'm back! These are the hottest trends of the summer! and personally my favorites too of course:)

*Tip = tips for pairing or great things to look for~!

** = extras

*Trending = outfit "trends" basically.

Collars:

Yup, they've been around since last winter, but it's cool. Currently collars of every kind are popping up everywhere, from casual shirts to formal and sheer to t-shirt material-y! They span from cute to pulled together prep or even uber intense lol, and best of all, there's a whole variety of 'em too. One of my favorite trends, hence the many pictures...:)

This is a very versatile collared shirt from bai e shop! (I'll post the links to these websites below if you want to check them out~) This shirt can pull off the casual or semi-formal look; the different materials of the collar and the crochet/lace shirt totally makes it pop, and paired with the same color family high-waisted shorts gives it a clean-cut look.
* Tip: a belt pulls it all together as a nice transition:)

An example of a casual collared shirt. The crochet collar complements (so many c's lol) the graphics to sport a cutesy look, and it gives off a summery vibe when paired with a muted floral skirt.
*Tip: You might think the floral and graphics would be overkill, but with small print+one big print, it balances out quite well:)

Who said collars are only for shirts! Here's a cute polka-dot ruffley/eyelet collar dress!

*Tip: drawstring cinches in the waist

Denim "collar" tank with sheer chiffon material! Awesome contrast for a toned down edgy look. Great with leggings or skinnies to balance out the flow of the shirt.

*Trending: One of this summer's major trends is all about "flowy/loose" pieces and outfits!

Collars...bejeweled...YES! This necklace makes the collar super portable and great to layer over your basic shirts 'n tees.

*Trending: Ultra layers. Hey! Collars are build-able too! Take a peter pan collared dress and layer a sweater or a round-necked cardigan over it = slouchy cute:)

Cut-out Shoulders

A casual-izing semi-sexy look; it shows a bit skin, but not too much, just a "peekaboo!" Blast to the past with a favorite decade trend:)

When I saw this shirt, I was like "LOVE"! It takes the collar, print, and cut-out shoulder trend and mixes them all together for instant awesome-ness!
*Tip: The polka dot top paired with gingham shorts comes together nicely because a "base-color" that both pieces share is black, so the two don't clash:) Plus with the oxfords and lace socks, the outfit comes off as casual sweet.

A basic, bohemian vibe, cutoff shoulder top.

This cutout shoulder tunic has really cool sleeves and the bright mint green screams summer fun:)

*Trending: Bold and bright colors! This shirt brings two trends together. Use a belt if you want to keep your waist line.

**Couldn't find an example, but cut-off shoulder blouses are great too! So cute!

Prints

Whoo! Small prints are big this summer! They can be super casual or formal depending on what kind of material they lay on, although most of the time, their cuteness makes things casual...but cute! Oh, and polka dots and stripes are here to stay~ yey!

Printed "flowy shorts" are up next! All these prints are soooo cute~ lolololol.

*Tip: Pair with a "less busy" top because the bottom is already very animated. I would go for more of a basic top or a simple collared tank.

*Trending: Go for the flowy look with a sheer blouse (but nothing too slouchy or loose or you'll just look sloppy). If you want to stick to traditions, wear a fitted tank and tuck it in.

A casual summer dress with kitty patterns and a crochet collar! Double win!

*Trending: pastel colors or "dusty" pinks and blues.

*Tip: nudes and pastels work well together! Put on a nude belt and nude heals to complete the summery look:)

Pleats

Baby, these are HUGE this spring and summer! All I gotta say, love the accordion pleats and sheer together, it's awesome.

Pleated blouse with lace accents are sweet are cute! Also, I love the buttons running down the shirt...I dunno why, they're just adorable:)

This dress is so cute, something I would wear for a tea party or something...lol. But anyways, love the lace "overlay-shawl" over the pleated skirt; it again brings somewhat of a "contrast" of different materials, although they are from similar "trend families" (I dunno how to explain that...sorry...).

*Trending: Lace is still here, I think it will be a trend to stay around for a while:)

Pleats and dot prints!

......................................................................................................

That's it for today, four big summer trends! Hope you liked the clothes and the tips:)

2011 Spring/Summer Trends, May~2011

Trends in Asia that are springy/summery in 2011!
These are the ones that personally stuck out to me most~:)
Also, the styles of I like the most...I guess...but they're all amazing!!!

As usual, floral is still a hype, but this time, maxi dresses and skirts are also among the styles to look out for! This style looks great with a more plain, white shirt or tank top with a bit of embellishment because our focus is on the pattern below. A warm, brown belt adds a softer, more complex, but sweet look to end our outfit:)

This skirt is more flowy and meshy, it looks very elegant! It can also double up as a sleeveless dress as well. And from the pictures above, it can also be noted that our spring wedges are back on the stage as well:)

Here are a few more maxi skirt/dress ideas:

Notice that the tops above are more simple so they do not draw the eyes away from the flowy, sweet material of the dress, so keep tops more on the simple side, but a few cute designs are still a must:) Also on the very top picture with black dress type, there is a cropped trench-coat/blazer like jacket on top, this gives a hint of "sophisticatedness" that can dress up our black maxi a little bit more.

Whoot! Our fall slouchy shirt style is back! These slouchy tees are cute and simple! They are room enough to layer up with other tanks or dresses underneath, and alone they also look complete and cute! Slouchy tees give an airy, more "hug-able" look, (hard to put into words) it gives a cute edge to an outfit! Currently, these slouchies are also rocking the graphic style! Graphics are a must to simply dress up an outfit or to layer basics or patterns onto or underneath:)

I apologize for the small pictures! Couldn't make them any larger! But here, it can be seen that there is a watercolor-floral painted like tank layered underneath~

Our graphic slouchy comes in cute spring colors and designs!

Here is another example of layering tanks and patterned tops under the slouchy tee!

DOTS!!! DURDURDURR DELIGHTFUL DOTS! Keep an eye out for the dot pattern! They're also back on the show! These dots add a more innocent and adorable (I've used that word so many times now!) look to one! Especially with the lace trim and the slightly ruffled sleeves, so cutesy looking:) but ultimately, it depends on what you wear with it. Also, bright, pastel, and candy likes colors are back for a warm weather and energetic look!

Here is an adorable tank dress covered with mini dots and lace! It can be layered underneath a slouchy shirt or worn alone, both look nice and cute!

Here the same dress is layered under a bright plaid shirt giving it a more quirky-cute boho look!

Remember! Graphic shirts and mini or bold, large floral are still in the game!:) I'm also sensing a lace-trim (and lace in general!) fad!
